Relax Beauty Co is a small skin care and beauty salon based in Hamilton Ontario.
My role: Digital Marketing Coordinator
The Project: For this 3 month position at Communitech, I worked in a group of 5 people whose main task was to help the 3 businesses that we were working with create different plans. One business was Relax Beauty where I helped to create Instagram posts over our 2 - week course of working with them.
Obstacles: The company has been around for a long time with a very experienced owner in the industry. However, there were multiple social media accounts created and no concise brand image. The new brand manager was helping with this and therefore wanted me to create instagram posts for their account with the new color palette they decided.
Method to achieve goal: I decided with different concepts such as tips, giveaways and holiday specials. I then conceptualized these into posts and experimented with the different colors, fonts and images. Once I was happy with these I sent them to the brand manager who approved. I then came up with titles to go along with the posts.
What I learned: Starting out a brand and making sure there is only one account on each social media page is important as later on this could cause the account to be flagged as spam no matter what is done.
